Here is an article titled “Raising the bar” that appeared in The Hindu newspaper dated 27 July 2019. This article discusses about the huge improvement in the performance of the Tamil Nadu medical aspirants in 2019 compared to 2018.
The data is limited to the round 1 counseling for Tamil Nadu medical admission 2019. Status at the end of round 1 counseling in 2018 is compared to the status at the end of round 1 counseling in 2019.
The final performance depends on the number of vacancies that might spring up after the surrender of All India Quota seats from MCC to relevant states.

You have not mentioned whether you are a native of TN or not. If you are a native of TN, your chance of getting into a government college or government quota in private medical college depends on your community.
Of course, you can get MBBS through management quota in private colleges.
