I was invited by RJ Balaji, probably the most popular RJ in Chennai, to share my knowledge regarding medical admissions in Tamil Nadu.
RJ Balaji is a very lively and energetic person and his enthusiasm is infectious. I am a great fan of him and felt proud to be interviewed by him.
We recorded a 30-40 minutes discussion that revolved around NEET, medical admissions in Tamil Nadu, the various categories of medical seats and their relevant fee structure, NEXT and some advice to the medical aspirants looking forward to medical admission in the upcoming years.
The interview is expected to be broadcast on 92.7 Big FM radio station, from 29 Jul 2019 to 2 Aug 2019, at about 10:00 to 11:00 pm.
While we discussed several issues during the interview, I want to highlight two important points:
- Any candidate who is interested in clearing the NEET exam should start believing in him/ her than the coaching center. While I am not denying the fact that the coaching centers might add value, I am confident that NEET can be mastered by self-study too. To achieve this, we the community should instill confidence in these children. It is not impossible.
- The medical admission is highly complicated. While the candidates can prepare for the NEET exam, parents should prepare themselves for the admission process. They should casually monitor what is happening during the admission process, when the child is in the 11th standard and understand the process. Don’t wait until your turn. This would avoid unnecessary shock during the admission process.
