You have to check which seats were allocated during counseling and which seats were allocated during college level mop up round. Last year, the cutoff for management quota seats went down to Rank 4520 during the counseling. Any candidate you see below this rank in admission could have got through NRI quota or college level mop up round. Since college level mop up round is not controlled by DME, you cannot expect to get admission into this, unless you are ready to pay some “extra” money.
In 2019, the first round cutoff for management quota seats has already gone down to Rank 4902. So, we can expect candidates in the range 5000-6000 to have a good chance in round 2.
